In our decorative arts and accessories category, once again we offer quality materials and expert craftsmanship, both of which harken to a time when attention to detail was the the rule — not the exception.
One of the highlights of our decorative arts offerings is our American art pottery collection. It is interesting to note that at the turn of the 19th century, Americans embraced a new concept that we have begun to embrace today: the idea that creativity and craftsmanship are integral to good design.
Pottery, created in ancient times for utilitarian needs, has become recognized today as decorative art — just as it was in the 19th century.
Ephriam Faience Pottery creates art pottery vases with the philosophy and aesthetic based on the Arts and Crafts ideal. Thrown vases are individually thrown, sculpted, and glazed by hand. In addition to pottery, we also offer a large selection of art tiles from Motawi, Pewabic and Weaver Tile.
Master craftsman Jim Dailey makes custom clocks for our collection. His Present Time Clocks are handmade, featuring quartersawn oak and custom silk-screened faces. These special timepieces are numbered, catalogued, and signed by Jim.
Lastly, we offer beautiful authentic carpets handcrafted in the Arts and Crafts tradition by Persian Carpet. The rugs are woven from 100% New Zealand wool. Knots are handtied producing luxurious feel, quality construction and durability. These carpets have a longevity cycle of 75-100 years!
